Real food.
Real cooking.
Real results.
I cook weekly meal plans. Five to seven recipes a week, a shopping list in season, and short videos that show every step. The food is tasty. The portions are satisfying. The grocery run is fun.
This week on the plan
Two toasts, one plate
Avocado mash with a runny yolk and herbs on one side, feta with cherry tomatoes and za'atar on the other. A breakfast that does not make you pick a side, on a Tuesday morning that needs both.
Read the recipeI started cooking this way because my body asked me to. What I learned along the way is that food is not a project. It is a small act of care, repeated five times a week, that quietly changes a life.
From the kitchen
I cooked because my body asked.
I kept cooking because I loved it.
In the spring of 2020 the world locked down, and so did I. A few months in I started seeing acne, my body shifted in ways my clothes did not forgive, and I was tired all the time. The doctor said PMOS (renamed from PCOS). The medication came with side effects I had read about before he finished writing the prescription, so I decided to work on myself instead. My mom helped with the cooking. My dad gave advice. Healthy eating, exercise, sleep on a schedule.
Almost six years on, the symptoms are gone. I could let the habits go in theory, but this version of me is the one I prefer, and the cooking is what carries it. Perla's Cooking Options is the practice I built for myself, written down for anyone who needs the same.
